Suzani a type of embroidered and decorative tribal textile made in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries. Suzani is from the Persian Suzan which means needle and in Iranian Suzankāri translates to needlework.
Suzanis usually have a cotton fabric base, which is embroidered in silk or cotton threads, it's often made in two or more pieces, that are then stitched together.
Popular design motifs include sun and moon disks, flowers (especially tulips, carnations, and irises), leaves and vines, fruits (especially pomegranates), and occasional fish and birds.
I love suzani accents in interior decor, specially upholstered furniture like chairs, banquettes, headboardS or cushions.
I love those little suzani stools:
Here a some interior inspiration with suzani accents, it's a striking embroidered fabric that goes well with any style interior, like this rustic like interior:

This is one of my favorite motif, it's a Tashkent embroidery witch consists of dark-red circles with a star in the center, or a circle with flowers, and a large amount of blank background space
Another one of my favorites is this Emily Walker design (she is a designer at Canadian House & Home) and I loves he use of Donghia’s suzani as artwork.
She framed the fabric to hang above her sofa and I think it's a great idea!
I love the traditional suzani but I am also very found of new interpretation like this jacquard by Donghia.
This jacquard textile called suzani is Donghia's interpretation of an antique and tribal textile. The design captures this honored art in a spectacular woven pattern. Unexpected and updated colors make Suzani an excellent choice for colorful accents or dramatic statements.
Here a other examples using the Donghia suzani textile.
I love this Doghia suzani upholstered headboard :)
